Legendary country star Glen Campbell appeared at the Aberdeen Music Hall during his final ‘Goodbye Tour’ in November 2011. He had announced in June that year that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease six months earlier. Following his Alzheimer’s diagnosis, Campbell who was proud of his Scottish roots, embarked on a final “Goodbye Tour”. His final Scottish concerts included the appearance at the Music Hall remembered as poignant by fans who were there. His final show was on November 30, 2012, in Napa, California. After the end of the tour, Campbell entered the studio in Nashville to record what would be his final album, Adiós, which would not be revealed until five years later. He died in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 8, 2017.
