Instruments that make scenery, songs that make shocked faces. Vocals and final mixing occurred here at the Conservatory, but most of the album was done in a house rented for this purpose, large empty and haunted. During the course of those two weeks recording at that house, every detail of it's odd walls and warm vibe were captured and sealed within the echo of JR's drums. Ingenuity marks the formation of guitar sounds as hand-crafted and you can get, with Ahmad even taking his amp apart and adjusting it internally, in ways it's really not meant to be adjusted, just to get the right sound for a song. Mike provides a second source of guitar solos in the low frequency range, busting out bass meant to break things off of passing cars. give it some listening-to...

here's some stuff that's come out of the clandestine audio conservatory that's just really dang great. It's from our old friend Aaron Goodwin (G-Dub) and by-golly I like it. It's as smooth as milk on autumn leaves and also there's someone rollerskating.

ojfm was a new-school melodic speed-folk band consisting of Joe Wozniak, Jason "Shaggy" "McDougal" Fatty Chops Qwipkrlxxs Starr, Willie vonArx and Glenn Matlock. These are some of the only recordings featured here not actually recorded in our studio, they were recorded in July of 2002 on just a computer, an old Teac mic preamp, and an ordinary soundcard. Since ojfm broke up, many ojfm songs are now part of either Woz's solo recordings or Ice as Candy or both.

Theres a good bit of visionary mixed in with a firm determination to rock you. With some songs that are truely epic, such as Spanish Waltz and Walking the Tame, you get a level of quality and time put into the song that just isn't seen enough today. With other little gems, like Queen for instance, they don't play games or paint such a landscape, they just get down and rock you.

give this goodness a listen...
